Donald Trump's new social media platform, Truth Social, was hacked within hours of its announcement.

The former US president unveiled the name and mission for his highly anticipated side hustle after he was banned from the likes of Facebook and Twitter following the Capitol Insurrection.

A beta version of Truth Social was meant to be issued next month so people can test it out however someone managed to get hold of a private link.

That link was posted on Twitter and it took people to the Truth Social website where you could sign up a username.

With the internet being the internet, it wasn't long before people started taking up all variants of Donald Trump's name so that the ex-Commander in Chief couldn't use it himself.

They took @RealDonaldTrump, @DonaldTrump and @DonaldJTrump and some users started posting content designed to troll the 75-year-old.

The user who signed up as @DonaldJTrump posted a photo of a farm pig pooing with a caption that said 'Pig Poop Balls'.

The account also posted another Truth, which said 'f**k you @Jack' as a joke message to the Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, who hasn't signed up to Truth just yet.

The beta testing site has since been taken down and those people who made unauthorised accounts for real-life people have been greeted with messages saying they have been locked out.

Trump is very excited about launching his own social media company after teasing the world with the concept ever since he was booted from the other big competitors.

He will be the chairman of the new 'Trump Media & Technology Group', who will 'fight back' against the 'Big Tech' companies of Silicon Valley and the 'liberal media consortium'.

In a statement, Trump said: "I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech.

"We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced. This is unacceptable."

"I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon.

"TMTG was founded with a mission to give a voice to all. I'm excited to soon begin sharing my thoughts on TRUTH Social and to fight back against Big Tech. Everyone asks me why doesn't someone stand up to Big Tech? Well, we will be soon!"

It's not expected to launch across the US until the first quarter of next year.

There will be a subscription video service on the app, which, according to a statement, will feature 'non-woke entertainment programming, news, podcasts and more'.
