People went understandably nuts when Five Guys announced it would finally be coming to Australia.

After many months of waiting where the iconic fast food will place its landmark store, we've finally been given the details.

Five Guys has picked a plot of land next to Penrith Leagues Club in Sydney's west as area they want to set up shop.

The company was expected to be building a restaurant in Sydney's CBD, however the coronavirus pandemic scuppered those plans, according to News Corp.

As a result, the decision was made to look outside the city's heart and they've settled on Penrith.

Seagrass Boutique Hospitality Group has signed a deal with the Panthers Group to allow the restaurant to open, which is due mid-year.

Matthew Leavey, head of property for Panthers Group, is bloody stoked they will be able to host the first Five Guys in Australia.

"Panthers are over the moon to partner with Seagrass to bring the first Five Guys to Australia," he said.

"After a competitive process, we decided that aligning with a strong hospitality leader like Seagrass BHG to be able to introduce an iconic international brand like Five Guys to Penrith was in the best interest of our members and community."

The restaurant will be found opposite the first Krispy Kreme store to open in Australia and will be nestled between a McDonald's and a KFC. The area reportedly attracts more than 40,000 cars a day, so you know there will be some hungry eyes on the way to or from work.

Once the Penrith restaurant is up and running, Five Guys is keen on opening several more places in Circular Quay, Darling Harbour and Broadway.

If you don't live in Sydney and still want those delicious burgers then fear not, Five Guys is planning on setting up shop in Melbourne and the Gold Coast by the end of the year.
