Pakistan has erupted in happiness, joy, applause and cheers after the country's cricket team defeated India at the Men's T20 World Cup over he weekend.

It's the first time Pakistan has beaten their geographic neighbour at an ICC event, according to New Corp, so you can understand their elation over such a joyous moment.

While there is no doubt that everyone in Pakistan will be cheering on their national side, there appeared to be no one happier than Muhammad Sarim Akhtar.

While you might not know his name, you will definitely know the meme he is attached to.

If you cast your mind back two years ago when Pakistan played Australia in the Cricket World Cup, the image of Akhtar standing disappointed was hard to miss.

Pakistani cricketer Asif Ali dropped a catch and then the camera panned to the crowd and settled on Muhammad, who couldn't look more upset.

He later revealed he would have loved to have heckled Ali, however he knew the cricketer had recently gone through a devastating family incident so he chose to stand in the crowd looking like a disappointed dad.

"It was just a straightforward catch," he said. "It was really disappointing to see it happen right in front of me getting dropped. It probably showed all over my face.

"I could see it land on his hand and then he dropped it, so it was really disappointing to see it happen right in front of me. And I couldn't say anything because he had just come off a family tragedy, so I didn't shout at him."

But fast forward to now and you couldn't wipe the smile of Muhammad Sarim Akhtar's face if you tried.

He has praised the Pakistani cricket team for their fantastic win over India, which came after Pakistan captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan came together for an unbeaten 152-run partnership.

They methodically hunted down India's target with 10 wickets to spare and 13 balls left at Dubai International Cricket Stadium over the weekend.

The win brought an end to a near three-decade Indian domination of Pakistan on the cricket pitch, which goes to show why this is such a history-making moment for the country.

We're just happy he's finally happy.
