Judge Orders Prison To Serve Capitol Rioter Organic Food So He Can Stick With 'Shaman Diet'

A judge has ordered a detention facility to give a man accused of being at the Capitol riots all-organic food.

Jacob Chansley had his first court appearance this week after being charged over his alleged involvement in the 'insurrection' in Washington D.C.

His public defender explained how Chansley hasn't eaten since roughly Friday (January 8) because the detention facility didn't have food that aligned with his diet.

According to ABC15, the judge was 'deeply concerned' by the revelation that the 33-year-old was essentially starving.

They asked the public defender to work with the US Marshal's Office to fix the issue and ensure he eats something.

David Gonzales, U.S. Marshal for the District of Arizona, told ABC15: "We will abide by the judge's order." He added Chansley will be served food that matches with a 'shaman's strict organic diet'.

The Phoenix-native, who also goes by the name Jake Angeli and calls himself the 'QAnon Shaman', was one of the few faces that went viral when hundreds of protestors broke into the Capitol building.

Chansley turned himself into the FBI last week and has since been charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, and with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

A statement from the Department of Justice (DoJ) said: "It is alleged that Chansley was identified as the man seen in media coverage who entered the Capitol building dressed in horns, a bearskin headdress, red, white and blue face paint, shirtless, and tan pants.

"This individual carried a spear, approximately 6 feet in length, with an American flag tied just below the blade."

Chansley told the BBC several days after the deadly riots that he was willingly attending a meeting with the FBI.

He believed he had done nothing wrong during the riots and was confident he would be released without charge because he had 'truth and God on his side'.

Chansley said the protest was just 'patriots doing what our founding fathers would have done'.

In rare interview with Newsy, Chansley reckons he'll be able to avoid any serious punishment.

"I'm not really all that worried about it because, in all honesty...I didn't break any laws. I walked through open doors," he said.
