Man Becomes First To Ever Complete Australian Pub's 5kg Burger Challenge

That's a whole lotta food.

An Australian bloke has managed to do what none of his 55 predecessors have tried.

James has swiftly and decisively conquered the Khartoum Hotel 5kg Burger Challenge in stunning form.

The overall prize money for the eventual winner has slowly gone up every time someone fails to put the whole meal away.

James rocked up to the Cessnock pub in New South Wales over the weekend to see if he could devour the burger and wedges within 30 minutes.

He managed to do it in 25 minutes and 37 seconds.

The Kitchener Hotel wrote on Facebook: "Our Khartoum Hotel Burger Challenge has attracted an absolutely amazing amount of interest not only locally but nationally and globally since we launched it onto market.

"Challengers, and there have been 55, have come from a very wide area to take it on with varying results.

"Some have thrown in the towel or should I say knife and fork with only 12 minutes gone, others have used the full 30 minutes with varying degrees of completion but the vast majority have hit the wall at about 18 to 20 minutes.

"We have said from day one that it is a challenge and there to be beaten and that out there is Super Burger Muncher/Destroyer that will do just that."

James conquered it in style and managed to methodically and calmly shovel all that food into his gob without having any serious injuries.

What is even more ridiculous is that he had some spare room for dessert. He ordered a double serving of cheesecake to wash down his main meal.

For being the first person to win the challenge, James walked away with a hefty $650 in prize money and it's now been reset to $100 for the next challenger.

The pub added: "Our Legends Board is off to the sign writers to get the first name added. All of us here at the Khartoum Hotel @ Kitchener are so excited that we have our first winner."

James' name will soon be on that Legends board and future winners will have to come in under 25 minutes and 37 seconds to break the record.
