A man has been accused of reacting with furious anger after staff at a McDonald's in America forgot to give him sauce for his chicken nuggets.

Sauce is a pretty important part of the eating process for some people and it's understandable that diners might get a little miffed when it's not included.

However, Robert Golwitzer Jr allegedly went ballistic when he realised his order was wrong.

The bloke in Iowa was so incensed by the slight that he called the particular McDonald's restaurant and issued a bomb threat.

ABC affiliate WHO reports Golwitzer Jr threatened to blow up the restaurant and punch an employee because of the missing sauce. Sadly, there's no information on what type of sauce the 42-year-old was seeking.

Staff at the restaurant passed those comments onto authorities, who then contacted the suspect.

He admitted to making the threats and was later charged with a felony charge of making a false report of explosive or incendiary device. He's since been released on bail after posting his bond.

This sort of alleged outburst isn't totally uncommon.

A woman was arrested back in 2017 after pulling a gun on a fast-food worker for not giving her enough chicken nuggets.

According to the Pierce County sheriff's office in Washington, the 19-year-old woman pulled up to the drive-thru at Jack in the Box and already had an 'attitude' because she had waited so long for her food.

She then went on to complain to the employee working through the window that they had forgotten her drink and hadn't given her enough nuggets.

When she was handed her drink, she complained something was in it and threw it through the window at the restaurant worker.

The employee then closed the window, which led to the driver and her female passenger hopping out of the car and screaming and banging on the window. The driver then reappeared with a gun, which pointed at the crowd of four staff members who were huddled at the window.

Cops were able to track down the vehicle after Jack in the Box staff gave them the number plate. When they turned up at the property they found the teenager hiding in the attic. She was swiftly arrested for three counts of assault in the first degree.
