A man has been seen doing a burnout at a Hungry Jack's drive-thru in Adelaide.

Footage was captured by an onlooker and posted onto the Sh*tAdelaideThings Instagram page where it has gone viral around the country.

Police allege the man behind the wheel arced up in the drive-thru lane because he was angry about his ice cream.

It's a classic joke that the soft serve machines at fast food restaurants are often broken and sadly for this driver it happened when he was in desperate need of an ice cream.

The man in the black Nissan wagon chucked a few burnouts next to the customer service window and then moved the vehicle to the On The Run car park to burn some more rubber.

But he didn't stop there, according to authorities.

They will say he then continued his out of control driving near three schools.

Police eventually tracked him down and flicked on their emergency lights and sirens, but the driver allegedly was able to pull a sneaky U-turn and get away from them.

Authorities eventually caught up with him at a property near Happy Valley Drive and burst into his property.

They found him in the bathroom and he allegedly refused to take a breath test.

He's since been charged with misuse of a motor vehicle, fail to obey a direction to stop, hindering police, refuse a breath test and contravene an alcohol interlocking scheme after it was discovered his licence was subject to mandatory alcohol scheme conditions.

He appeared in court two days ago and Police decided to impound his Nissan wagon for 28 days.
