For some people, it's not enough to merely live with a cat; they also need to shower it with gifts and document the feline's life via its own Instagram page.

But if you wanted to immortalise your pet in a peculiar way then Legoland in Victoria might have the answer.

The Melbourne store has announced one lucky person will get the chance to have their cat turned into a full-sized replica using Lego pieces.

Lego Master Builder Kieran Jiwa has been called on to make someone's dream come true.

He said: "As a self-confessed cat lover, I'm pretty excited about this competition. In preparation I have already done a practice run with my own cat Freya. This not-so-furry feline is made up of 5,000 Lego pieces and took me about 50 hours to design and construct.

"Freya was hesitant to meet her Lego double but now they're firm friends! I'm looking forward to seeing the entries come through and honing my cat building skills. Once I've finished the model I will be handing it over to the winner to display at their home."

Legoland is offering up the sweet deal in time for International Cat Day tomorrow (Saturday 8 August), although it will only be available to one person.

When submitting your entry, you have to explain why you believe your furbaby should be chosen for a Lego masterpiece.

Hundreds of people have already commented on the Facebook post advertising the offer.

It says: "Is your cat feline fine and simply purr-fect in every way? Want to immortalise their greatness and have something for them to swat off a high shelf?

"We're not playing cat and mouse games with you, all you cool cats and kittens have to do is submit a photo of your beloved pet and tell us why your cat should be replicated with Lego bricks as well as your cat's name, age and breed in the comments section below!"

The competition will run until 25 August, so you have plenty of time to get your cat in the best shape possible.
