There's nothing more satisfying than watching freshly laid cement be expertly smoothed out.

There's also probably nothing more heartbreaking than seeing that hard work ruined by an adorable dog.

A not-so-good boy was captured on a security camera excitedly pouncing towards a tradie without realising his steps were destroying hours of work.

Jackson, from Albury-Wodonga, and his girlfriend had just returned home as workers were laying cement for a shed in the backyard.

They didn't realise their kelpie-border collie mix called Obie had raced ahead and was curious as to who was in his garden.

The CCTV footage showed the hilarious dog marching through the wet cement to say hello to everyone and get loads of pats.

A quick-thinking tradie grabbed the dog before he could do any more damage.

A video of the incident has been posted onto YouTube, where it has racked up more than 92,000 views.

One person reacting to the clip said: "Man's just yeeted the dog into the next month."

Another added: "I was actually happy to see how gentle that guy was despite the fact that he was definitely PO'd. He tossed the dog just enough for it to clear the wet concrete."

A third wrote: "Dog: 'You guys need any help?'"

The best part of the footage uploaded by Jackson was the fact they were watching it on their TV screen at home and the pet owner panned to the embarrassed pooch sitting on the couch.

Maybe Obie will think twice before bounding into a backyard again.
