Flights to the US and UK are now available, but only if you get the Covid-19 vaccine.

Qantas has started selling international flights beginning in July.

People can now book holidays to the UK, North America and some Asian countries, according to Executive Traveller.

Flights will depart from July 1 however some of the usual cities you would have normally been allowed to fly into pre-pandemic have been omitted from the list.

News Corp says Chicago and New York City are among the places you're not able to touch down in, but you'll be able to book flights to Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan.

Qantas boss Alan Joyce said travel to the UK and US would only be able to happen once a suitable vaccine had been made and distributed to enough of the population.

"For some of our big destination like the United States and the UK, it's going to need a vaccine given the high prevalence of the virus in both of those locations," Mr Joyce said at the company's annual general meeting in October.

"But we are getting more and more confident about the opportunities and the potential for a vaccine in helping getting those operations up potentially by the end of 2021."

While Qantas seems set on getting people to overseas destinations from July, the federal government hasn't revealed when international borders will be reopened.

There has been no word from the Morrison administration on when we can expect to see that happen.

But one thing is for sure: if you want to travel on Qantas, you'll need to have been vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Joyce explained in November that people will also have to show proof they have received the jab and expects other airlines to follow suit.

"For international travellers, we will ask people to have a vaccination before they get on the aircraft,'' he said. "Certainly, for international visitors coming out and people leaving the country we think that's a necessity.

"I think that's going to be a common thing talking to my colleagues in other airlines around the globe,'' he added.

Considering the Covid-19 vaccine isn't due to be rolled out until March, it will be pretty surprising if Aussies will be able to be travel from July.
