Qatar Airways has offered an epic gift to teachers around the world.

The airline will be handing out 21,000 free tickets to educators to say thanks for working during the pandemic.

Each country will get an allocation of tickets from 5 October to 8 October, and teachers will have to virtually elbow each other out of the way to get their mitts on a seat.

They'll get one free economy class ticket to any of Qatar's 90 destinations worldwide.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said: "We at Qatar Airways are incredibly grateful for the commitment and hard work of teaching professionals around the world who continue to educate our young people in these times of uncertainty.

"We know that it has not been an easy task, yet teachers have been incredibly resourceful, turning to online learning and other methods.

"As the largest airline flying consistently throughout the pandemic, we have also supported students in recent weeks by flying to wherever they need to be to start their studies on charter as well as scheduled flights.

"As an airline, we firmly believe in the importance of education and are committed to lending our support to educational causes."

It's similar to the giveaway the airline did back in May, where 100,000 tickets were offered up for free for healthcare workers.

Not only will teachers get a free flight somewhere, but they'll also get a 50 percent off voucher that will cover you or a flying buddy for a return fare.

You'll be able to fly any time until 30 September next year, so there's plenty of time for borders to open back up when it's safe to head overseas.

If you're a teacher and want a free flight (um, who wouldn't want that?) you can head here and hope to be one of the lucky ducks that gets a seat.
