Rock Legend Eddie Van Halen Has Died From Cancer

Legendary rock icon Eddie Van Halen has died after a long battle with cancer. The guitarist was just 65.

The news was shared by the rocker's son, Wolf, who wrote on social media: "He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I've shared with him on and off stage was a gift. My heart is broken and I don't think I'll ever fully recover from this loss."

He was a guitarist, songwriter and founder of the American rock band Van Halen, who dominated the charts for decades.

Eddie came in eighth on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.
