Scotland Yard has dropped their investigation into Prince Andrew.

British police have been looking into claims from Virginia Giuffre, who alleges she was trafficked to London by disgraced billionaire and paedophile Jeffrey Epstein to have sex with the Duke of York when she was 17 years old.

The Metropolitan Police has previously probed these claims before and previously said they are essentially a matter for authorities in the US.

But when Ms Giuffre launched a civil lawsuit in New York against Prince Andrew, Met Commissioner Cressida Dick asked for the claims to be investigated again by her team.

Commissioner Dick said 'no one is above the law', adding: "As a result of what's going on, I've asked my team to have another look at the material."

However, Scotland Yard has now revealed their investigation has been completed.

A spokesperson told the Daily Mail: "As a matter of procedure, MPS officers reviewed a document released in August 2021 as part of a US civil action. This review has concluded and we are taking no further action."

The document being referenced is the lawsuit launched by Ms Giuffre and the legal papers served to Prince Andrew.

While the probe into the Duke of York is over, the spokesperson added that they continue 'to liaise with other law enforcement agencies who lead the investigation into matters related to Jeffrey Epstein'.

Ms Giuffre has been a longtime Jeffrey Epstein accuser and she launched her lawsuit in the Manhattan federal court back in August claiming the Duke of York sexually abused her when she was a teenager.

The legal action claims Virginia was trafficked to the London home of Epstein's ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell and was forced to engage in a sex act with the Prince.

Virginia also claims she was abused a second time by the Duke of York, along with another victim, at Epstein's Manhattan apartment.

"During this encounter, Maxwell forced Plaintiff, a child, and another victim to sit on Prince Andrew's lap as Prince Andrew touched her," the lawsuit states.

"During his visit to New York, Prince Andrew forced Plaintiff to engage in sex acts against her will."

Prince Andrew has strenuously denied the claims in the past. He has denied meeting Virginia or even knowing her.

In a BBC Newsnight interview back in 2019, the Prince said: "I can absolutely categorically tell you it never happened."

The Duke of York also claimed a famous photo of him with his arm around her waist is a fake.
