Simone Biles has clapped back at the people who labelled her a 'quitter' at the Tokyo Olympics.

The legendary American gymnast shocked the world when she pulled out of several events at the 2020 Games and cited mental health as the reason.

Many praised her for putting her mind first, however there were plenty of people who said she shouldn't be on Team USA if she couldn't handle the pressure.

It's been a month since the Tokyo Games ended and the 24-year-old has reflected on her time in Japan.

"Definitely not the way I planned the olympics going but I wouldn't change anything for the world," she wrote.

"I'm proud of myself and the career I've had thus far. This Olympics doesn't erase the past accomplishments I've achieved nor does it define who I am as an athlete.

"I've pushed through so much the past couple years, the word quitter is not in my vocabulary.

"For some of you that may be how you define me but keep talking because I can't hear you over my 7 Olympic medals which tied me for the most decorated gymnast EVER as well as most decorated American gymnast."

Beyoncé once said 'always stay gracious, best revenge is your paper' and Simone is speaking volumes with this.

Biles withdrew from the individual all-around, vault, bars and floor finals in late July, which was a massive shock for the industry.

On the day before her appearance in the team final, she had shared an uncharacteristically personal message about the pressures she has faced on her journey to the top, as well as being the face of Team USA at these games.

She wrote: "It wasn't an easy day or my best but I got through it. I truly do feel like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders at times.

"I know I brush it off and make it seem like pressure doesn't affect me but damn sometimes it's hard hahaha!

"The Olympics is no joke! BUT I'm happy my family was able to be with me virtually. They mean the world to me!"

Biles thanked athletes and supporters for the 'outpouring love' after she made the difficult decision to pull out of events.

She eventually came back at the Tokyo Olympics after Team USA said she would perform in the beam final.

Her clap back at the haters is perfect because her silver and bronze medal at the 2020 Games added to her already impressive five Olympic medal haul.

This just reminds everyone that she is still the G.O.A.T.
