An Australian airline worker who has been stood down during the coronavirus pandemic has just scored a massive win.

The Melbourne man was one of 10 people who had a winning entry in the Division One section, meaning he got to take home $2 million.

After seeing the big $20 million jackpot for the TattsLotto Draw, the unnamed man thought 'why not' and purchased a ticket just before the numbers were drawn on the weekend.

"It has actually come at the perfect time for us," the bloke said. "I'm an airline worker and I've recently been stood-down due to COVID-19. I saw that there was a $20 million Superdraw and I thought to myself 'I wouldn't mind a share of that.' So, I bought a ticket."

He couldn't believe his eyes when he saw the numbers trickle through.

"I just calmly cleared the numbers and casually said to my wife 'hey, can you check that for me'," he said.

"She scanned the ticket again, and when she saw that we had won, she went into shock. We just kept checking the ticket all day.

"We would have loved to go out to a nice restaurant or something but staying inside is for the greater good, so we popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate instead."

We hope they champagne showered the living hell out of their property because the certainly afford the cleaning bill now.

The ticket was bought at Patterson Road Lotto News and Post in Bentleigh, which is the third time a Division One ticket has been sold from that location.
