Sydney and Melbourne are set to welcome a sports bar that has an exciting edge.

It's not uncommon to see some blokes randomly shadow golfing or batting during a conversation and now they'll be able to put some of those skills into action over a beer.

The Batters Cricket Club will be heading to New South Wales and Victoria this summer and these establishments will come with a cricket simulator.

The AI-powered technology will let you play against your mates to see who really is the best batsman or woman.

They're due to open their doors on January 25 in Melbourne and January 28 in Sydney and will also obviously come with a decent serving of alcohol and food.

The event website states: "If Cricket and a BBQ is your idea of the perfect summer's day, Batters Cricket Club have got you sorted.

"You can challenge your friends and family to an exciting AI technology powered cricket battle while chowing down on some authentic BBQ grub.

"Get ready for burgers and beers with Batters infamous Aussie BBQ inspired menu, served alongside the best craft beers and classic cocktails (non-alcoholic beverages also available).

"Whether you are testing your pro batsman skills or you have never touched a cricket bat in your life, there is fun for all abilities and ages."

But, the tickets aren't cheap. Judging from the website it'll set you back $120 to book out a lane and it's unclear how many people you can squeeze into a lane.

You'll be able to battle your mates to see who is the best with a bat.

But if you fancy a whack while you're enjoying some beers or food then you can head to Sydney's Entertainment Quarter or Melbourne's Docklands in early 2022.
