Kaylyn was one of many people in Greater Sydney who haven't been able to knock back a drink at the pub.

The region has been in lockdown for weeks due to a nasty outbreak of the coronavirus and it's not clear when life will return to normal.

When she made a passing comment to her husband about how much she missed the pub, he took it upon himself to bring the pub to Kaylyn.

Daniel and Kaylyn started looking through Facebook Marketplace and their local Bunnings to see if they could create a bar in their own garage.

After forking out roughly $300, the Sydney bloke had everything he needed and managed to whip it up in a couple of hours.

Kaylyn gleefully watched her husband spend the day building an impressive bar from scratch by nailing wooden pallets together before sanding them down and whacking on a bit of varnish.

She told Daily Mail Australia: "We would normally hang out at the local pub with friends once a week, but with Covid keeping us inside, we were really starting to miss it."

The most expensive part of the construction was the bar top, which they got from Bunnings, and the cheapest were the pallets, which were just $2 each.

To make the bar a bit more legit, Daniel decided to install a section at the back that would allow you to store all the alcohol you needed.

Whack on an Aussie flag and you have yourself a pretty impressive garage bar, especially considering it cost around $300.

Kaylyn added: "The worst thing about having the bar is wanting to have all my friends over.

"My husband was stood down from his job until further notice, I lost one of my jobs because the beauty industry was shut down, we needed to do something to pass the time."

While they won't be able to invite friends over for a few more weeks, the makeshift pub will be perfect during the spring and summer months and they will be able to get boozy whenever they want.

Kaylyn posted a video of Daniel making the bar and it's been viewed by nearly half a million people.

She's overwhelmed with the response and hopes it inspires others to use their lockdown time to make something fun.

"I just wanted to make the video so I could show our friends and family - we honestly didn't think it would blow up like this," she told Sunrise.
