A group of Sydney clubbers clad in all-white were spotted launching a desperate mission to save a 'bag of powder' that fell into the ocean at Rose Bay Wharf in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

The video, which is probably the most Sydney thing we've ever seen, shows the mysterious baggie floating away as the group of mates make a wild attempt to rescue it.

If you're wondering why so much effort is put into this salvation mission, those bags of powder may or may not be worth around the $300 mark. We hear.

The lad tasked with rescuing the bag can be seen being carefully lowered into the water by a friend as he tries to reach for it, before he loses his grip and topples into the ocean.

One friend can be heard yelling: "Quick get it - get it out with your foot cuz."

Another suggested he instead sacrifice his pants to save the rogue baggie.

"Throw the pants away - don't worry about the pants," another friend said.

The hilarious video was shared on TikTok alongside the caption 'some bags must be saved' and has since gone viral.

Some commenters wondered why the daring fellow didn't just take off his shoes and reach for it, while others rightfully noted that it was a very 'Sydney' thing to do.

One TikTok user wrote: "Why wouldn't you just go in jocks and shoeless... and step on the rocks"

Another said: "Tell me you're from Sydney without telling me you're from Sydney."

Others felt for the partygoers, with one commenter writing: "I would have went in headfirst."

Another agreed, adding: "Why was everyone so hesitant! I would have been doing an Olympic dive into the water."

No word on whether or not the bag was saved.

Oh, and no word if the lad managed to cop a bunch of oysters to the back, but we're sure he's fine.
