Texas Group Tries To Claim Australia Is Being Run Like A Prison With Its Covid-19 Rules

Aussies have hit back at the sledge and said Texans shouldn't throw stones in glass houses.

An online lobby group from Texas has tried to drag Australia for its coronavirus restrictions.

There's no denying parts of Australia are dealing with severe lockdown rules that are preventing us from doing a lot of things we would have considered to be 'normal' before 2020.

Millions of people have been told to stay in their homes, wear face masks, check in to venues and get vaccinated against the pandemic so that it can ease the strain on our healthcare system.

It's all being done with the best of intentions, however the Texas Freedom Coalition reckons Australia is resembling a prison rather than a country.

Their Facebook page posted a meme saying 'Pray for Australia. It's almost unbelievable what is happening there'.

The image also showed a map of Australia with the caption 'what the world's largest prison looks like from space'.

I mean, first and foremost, the image they selected isn't even a satellite image taken from the cosmos and is simply just a normal topographical map.

Secondly, they neglected to mention there are vast areas of Australia that aren't in lockdown with citizens enjoying plenty of freedoms.

Aussies quickly caught wind of the sledge and reminded Texans that they aren't living in some idyllic paradise by comparison.

One user clapped back, saying: "Ahh Texas. Thanks for your concern. We're going quite fine thank you without your thoughts, prayers and our gun laws and real coffee."

Another added alongside a picture of a beautiful, empty beach and blue sky: "Yep, lockdown here in greater Sydney is just unbearable. Whatever will we do."

It's also hilariously ironic for Texans to throw stones from their fragile glass house that just introduced the most restrictive abortion rules for women in the whole of the United States.

Texan women are now banned from terminating a pregnancy after six weeks, even if it was the result of rape or incest.

The law has been slammed by US President Joe Biden, who said: "Complete strangers will now be empowered to inject themselves in the most private and personal health decisions faced by women."

Texas has also passed a new law that limits voting rights for citizens in the state.

Democrats fled the state to try and utilise a rule that required two-thirds of politicians to be present for a vote, however the bill eventually passed through both houses of the Texas Legislature.
