Donald Trump's White House doctor has made the bold suggestion for Joe Biden to take a cognitive test to prove he's mentally fit to run the country.

Republican Ronny Jackson has issued a letter to pressure the US President into taking the test.

Trump famously took the test last year when he was president and he claimed it was super easy.

Now, pressure is on Joe Biden to complete what's known as the Montreal Cognitive Assessment.

The 78-year-old has been criticised for making numerous gaffes while speaking at public engagements, including mixing up countries, using the wrong terminology or not getting his dates correct.

Mr Jackson believes these are all signs of someone who isn't mentally fit to run the United States of America and wants Biden to take the test now that he's back from Geneva.

"The American people deserve to have absolute confidence in their President," he said in the letter.

"They deserve to know that he or she can perform the duties demanded of the office, and they deserve to have full transparency on the mental state of their highest elected leader.

"I would argue that the American people don't have that confidence in President Biden.

"When I was Physician to President Donald J. Trump, the liberal media relentlessly pushed a narrative that he needed a cognitive test and that it should be the standard for anyone serving as Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.

"I administered the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA) test and President Trump excelled. Given the precedent set and Biden's clear mental impairment, I believe it is past time he undergo a cognitive test."

Mr Jackson has apparently sent the letter to physician to the President Kevin O'Connor, D.O. and Chief Medical Advisor Anthony Fauci.

In the meantime, he's reportedly collected 13 signatures from Republicans who agree Joe Biden should sit the Montreal Cognitive Assessment and prove he's mentally fit.

Mr Jackson told The Hill he believes Joe Biden is 'confused all the time' and 'doesn't know what's going on, where he's at'.

The Republican joined Donald Trump in October ahead of the 2020 US Election in claiming Biden wasn't mentally fit to run for office, let alone be President.

Clearly, those allegations didn't phase voters and they voted Joe Biden as President just one month later.

However, Ronny Jackson's credibility was questioned back in 2018 when he gave the results of Donald Trump's fitness test. Despite his reported lack of exercise and indulgence in fast food, Mr Jackson claimed the then-President's health was 'excellent' and he scored 30 out of 30 in the physical examination.
