Victoria has recorded 317 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours.
It's the single largest daily increase in cases since the pandemic began, indicating that the second wave that's currently being experienced in Victoria is far from over.
Parts of the state have been forced into lockdown to prevent the spread of the virus, however it will take a while before it's effective in the fight to reduce infections.

Premier Daniel Andrews said: "We are preparing for every contingency, but right now it's too early to be moving to a whole new stage," he said.
"But if you want to move out of these restrictions as fast as possible then that is entirely up to all of you.
"We've got to keep following all these rules, I know they're challenging, but if we pretend this is over because we want it to be over this will result in more deaths and more cases."
