A person has been so incensed by the magpie that caused a baby to die in Queensland that they're trying to kill it.

Pictures captured by Daily Mail Australia reveal 'poisoned' bait was left at Glindemann Park in Holland Park West, Brisbane in the hope it would kill the bird responsible for the tragic incident earlier this week.

Simone was walking with five-month-old Mia in her arms when she was swooped by a magpie.

Trying to escape the bird's attacks, the mum tripped and fell, causing a serious head injury to the baby. She was rushed to Queensland Children's Hospital in a critical condition where she later died.

Kim Marx, the council's standards chair at Brisbane City Council, said they had tried to remove several birds from the park and they had set up an exclusion zone in the park to protect people.

But it's clear people are taking matters into their own hands and have been placing tainted bait around Glindemann Park.

A local called the local council over the vigilantism and workers were seen combing through nests in the park.

A memo from the call, obtained by the Daily Mail, said: "Caller has noticed some people throwing some food around on the grounds of the park.

"Caller feels these people may be placing contaminated food for the magpies to possibly kill them.

"A number of people walk their dogs in the park and this could possibly cause further incidents to others."

After inspecting the area, a council worker was captured walking away with a bag of meat along with remnants of a nest.

Brisbane's Lord Mayor admits there had been many reports of magpie swooping in the area before Mia's death and one person even started bleeding after being attacked.

However, Adrian Schrinner said the bird responsible for Mia's attack has already been removed.

A GoFundMe has been set up to honour Mia and help her parents Simone and Jacob cope with the devastating loss of their child.

More than $133,000 has been raised for the couple in just two days.

Fundraiser organiser Sophie said: "We are absolutely blown away by the amount of support you have all shown. The amount we have raised, with every single one of your help, has exceeded what we ever thought possible.

"Please know, Jacob and Simone have not asked for anything and certainly do not expect anything. We know however, they will be eternally grateful for what this will do for them.

"Your money will be spent by Jacob and Simone to farewell Mia, and cover their day to day expenses whilst they receive the medical and professional help so they can get through this difficult time."
