A Western Australian man has made the bizarre choice to throw down one last beverage before surrendering to police following a dramatic car chase.

The wild footage of the 43-year-old man going out with a boozy bang was caught by a police helicopter.

Authorities tried to stop him while he was allegedly driving a stolen Holden Colorado utility on Mandurah Road in Madora Bay about 10.20 pm over the weekend.

The vehicle had reportedly stolen from Barragup.

Police say after the man failed to stop for police, a chopper followed the vehicle as he attempted to evade authorities by driving through several streets in the area.

Assumedly knowing the jig was up, the driver then abandoned the vehicle Old Pinjarra Road in Greenfields, only to suddenly return to the stolen car to get one last drink into his guts before giving himself up to police.

The enthusiastic drinker was later charged with several offences, including two car thefts, two unauthorised driving cases, a failed stop, and criminal damage.

He was denied bail and was scheduled to appear in the Magistrates' Court in Perth yesterday.

Let's hope the ballsy lad doesn't try to pull the same stunt in front of the judge...
