A mum has revealed her shock after seeing her mother-in-law 'breastfeeding' her son without her permission.
The woman has uploaded a rant to Reddit where she went into detail about the incident.
She explained how her baby is breastfed on evenings and weekends and she pumps milk to give her baby a bottle on all other occasions.
The mother-in-law looks after the baby during the day while the mum is working and has been told to use the bottle when he needs to be fed.
But the mum says she was horrified one day when she checked in on how they were doing.
"Yesterday while I was at work, I opened the baby monitor app on my phone to check and see if my MIL was able to get him to take a nap in his crib," she wrote on Reddit.
"She had been texting me saying he was crying really hard so she was thinking about just holding him for a nap, so I wanted to check and see if he was okay and if she ended up just holding him.
"When I looked at the camera, MIL was holding him and she had her shirt up and he was latched onto her breast.
"He was latched on, but obviously not getting any milk as my mother in law is not lactating."
The woman tried calling her mother-in-law but she didn't answer.
She eventually got her husband to call his mum, who explained she was doing it because the baby was crying so hard. It's what she used to do with her four children and she thought it would work for her grandchild.
The mother-in-law also conveyed her annoyance that her daughter-in-law checked the nanny cam and claimed it was an 'invasion of privacy'.
Asking Reddit's Am I The A**hole page, she questioned whether she was out of line for not wanting her mother-in-law looking after her child anymore.
She wrote: "I don't want her watching my baby anymore. We can afford a nanny or daycare.
"When I told my MIL this, she freaked out and said I was being a b***h and she was just trying to calm the baby down and it wasn't a big deal.
"She says I'm taking her grandchild away from her and being unfair. My husband understands why I'm upset, but wants to give her another chance to watch the baby.
"He also doesn't want to spend the money to get a nanny or do daycare when she can care for our baby for free."
She said the whole ordeal left her upset and 'completely baffled' and hopes to sort the situation with her mother-in-law out.
