People growing up in Australia will be no stranger to the Woolworths Mud Cake that featured at everyone's birthday.

The cheap yet delicious offering was an absolute staple for people of all ages, however it looks like there's a new contender in town.

The grocery store giant has unveiled a new cake and it's absolutely outrageous.

Woolies is now selling an $8 Lotus Biscoff flavoured cake and, honestly, what did we do to deserve this?

The 450g vanilla-layered cake comes with irresistible Lotus Biscoff spread, vegan buttercream and is hand finished with a whole Lotus Biscoff biscuit and crumbles.

Yeah - excuse me while I get 100, thanks.

Woolworths

Woolworths Instore Bakery category manager Michael Gullery knows this will well and truly shake up the grocery store cake game.

"Woolworths customers already love Lotus Biscoff, with millions of Lotus Biscoff products sold in our stores every year," he said.

"But we wanted to create something new that combines our popular cakes with a much loved, customer's favourite biscuit and spread. The result is a decadent dessert covered with the iconic biscuit and buttercream.

"Since the world famous Lotus Biscoff biscuit is vegan, we carried that through to the creation of our cake, for all Lotus Biscoff and vegan cake lovers to enjoy."

Lotus Biscoff marketing manager Anthony Fotoulis agreed that the cake is bloody yummy.

"What started as a biscuit perfectly paired with coffee has inspired new recipes around the world," he said. "We can't wait for Woolworths customers to try our iconic caramelised biscuit spread that is creating buzz."

Woolies has already come up with a fun recipe that you can do to turn the Biscoff cake into a goddamn lava cake.

The company has posted a video to Instagram showing how to make it and it's so simple.

Simply remove the Lotus Biscuit from the top of the cake and cut a hole and remove the leftovers.

Put some Biscoff spread in the microwave with cream (or use a 165ml can of Lite Coconut Cream instead to keep it vegan-friendly) and get it nice and toasty. Whack that mixture into the hole in the cake.

Cover up with top Biscuit Layer and then, when you're ready to serve, cut the cake and watch it ooze.
