Logan Paul Spends $3.5 Million On 'Only Known' Sealed Box Of First-Edition Pokémon Cards

Logan Paul Spends $3.5 Million On 'Only Known' Sealed Box Of First-Edition Pokémon Cards

YouTube star Logan Paul got his hands on the only known box of First-Edition Pokémon Cards

Logan Paul has spent a whopping $3.5 million (£2.6 million) on what is believed to be the only known sealed box of first-edition base set Pokémon cards in the world.

On Monday (20 December), the 26-year-old shared a series of posts on social media showing off his pricey haul.

A seemingly excited Logan captioned his post: "Just dropped $3,500,000 on this sealed & authenticated box of 1st Edition Pokémon cards."

He followed up by writing: "The only known one in the world."

One of Paul's followers wrote: "Oh s***. Pokémon prices about to go nuts again."

Another said: "These are worth that much? I have about 150 packs unopened in my closet."

This isn't the first time that the YouTuber has spend a bucket load of cash on the famous playing cards.

Earlier in the year, he spent $2 million (£1.5 million) on some more unopened boxes of first edition cards.

These boxes are considered to contain the holy grail of Pokémon cards and are extremely difficult to find.

Paul auctioned off the 36 packs through Goldin Auctions between 4-11 February, with the prized decks going for an average of around $40,000 (£30,000) each.

Logan even wore a Charizard Pokémon card around his neck for his ring walk versus Floyd Mayweather in June.

At the time he said that the card was worth a mega $1 million (£750,000) and it would bring him luck for the fight.

Unfortunately that wasn't the case and Mayweather beat Logan on points at the Hard Rock Stadium in Florida.

At least the YouTuber turned boxer was very well compensated for his efforts - according to celebritynetworth.com, Logan Paul's net worth is around $35 million (£26 million).

The website also reports that he made $5.25 million (£3.94m) from fighting Floyd, while he owns a $8 million (£6 million) home in California.

Paul told Forbes that he earned $14.5m before taxes between 2017 and 2018 - making him the tenth highest-earning YouTuber, with his brother Jake being even higher on the list.

A lot of his money comes from YouTube revenue, advertising sponsors, and merchandise sales of $40 million (£30 million).

As well as their boxing and YouTube careers, both Paul brothers are well known for pushing their merchandise to their younger audience, with Logan selling clothing under the label Maverick.
