Adele has revealed fans can expect her new album later this year.

Footage uploaded to social media show the 'Hello' hitmaker singing at a friend's wedding party, busting out the likes of 'Rolling in the Deep' and the Spice Girls' 'Spice Up Your Life'.

But it was the thing she said next that has everyone talking.

The 31-year-old told everyone: "Expect my album in September."

The news has understandably left everyone gobsmacked, considering we've been waiting for four years for new material from the artist.

One person wrote on Twitter: "Y'all hear that? That's everybody cancelling their September releases."

Another added: "Adelegend coming to end all of our faves, snatch wigs and Grammy's omg."

A third said: "Coming to rule the music industry and outsell our faves."

Adele released the incredible 25 in late 2015, which saw her tour the world and and win a bunch of awards.

The album became the highest selling of 2015, hitting the number one spot in several countries including Australia, the UK and the US and spent seven weeks up there.

No doubt, everyone will be keen to see whether the artist will delve into the breakdown of her marriage to charity entrepreneur Simon Konecki.

It will be even more interesting to see whether Adele will launch another massive around-the-world tour. She added two extra dates at the end of her 2016 tour, so that she could play to London audiences another time, however she had to cancel the last one due to vocal chord issues.

The 31-year-old told her fans on Instagram: "I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don't know if I'll ever tour again.

"I've done 119 shows and these last four will take me up to 123, it has been hard but an absolute thrill and pleasure to have done."

You can also bet that this latest album will not be titled 31. Her last three album titles have always been reflective of the singer's age at the time, however she revealed that she believed in trilogies and therefore 25 would be the last age-related album title.

She told Zane Lowe before 25 dropped: "I feel like there's been a massive change in me in the last couple of years - having become a parent and me and all of my friends suddenly living grown-up lives.

"[I think] how I feel about myself is gonna be how I feel forever. Of course I'm always gonna change my opinions on things and feelings, but calling the albums after my age has always shown a photograph of what was going on in my life then and there.

"I feel like not that much is gonna change profoundly in me from now in terms of how important eras of my life are. I think the next one is probably gonna be called Adele, the real me."

Countdown is on for September.
