Petition To Remove Kylie Jenner From Cardi B's WAP Video Receives More Than 59,000 Signatures

More than 59,000 people have signed a petition to remove Kylie Jenner from the music video for Cardi B's new single, 'WAP'.

The reality TV star is actually barely in the video, but her cameo appearance caused outrage this weekend among many of Cardi's loyal fans, with members of the Jenner family having previously been accused of appropriating black culture on multiple occasions.

The Change.org petition reads: "The video was perfect until we saw K and I wanted to throw my phone."

And since it went live this weekend, the petition has gained quite a lot of support, with more than 59,900 people signing it at the time of writing.

In the pretty risque vid, Kylie pops up wearing a leopard print unitard, and sashays her way down a corridor in slow motion.

But while it really is a 'blink and you'll miss it' kind of moment, it clearly didn't go down well with lots of people.

Commenting on the petition, one signee said: "I was happily enjoying my daily cup of brown women until that culture stealing coloniser showed up and made me spill. Thank you."

A second put: "Get the culture vulture Kardashians and Jenners tf outta hur."

Another person wrote: "I was enjoying this video, when all of a sudden, here she comes across my screen, and all in could think was, why is she hear? She isn't an entertainer! Every other woman in the video was."

While another added: "I'm signing because it's time we stop inviting them into our spaces. They never invite us into theirs. They take every part of our culture, but hate us at the same time."

It follows a barrage of criticism on social media from Cardi B fans who were disappointed that Kylie was given a role in the video.

One person wrote: "Kylie Jenner was just unnecessary on the Cardi B/ Megan Thee Stallion music video and that's the nicest way I can put it."

And it comes just a few months after people accused Kylie of cultural appropriation when she posted a photograph of herself with braided hair.

Fans hit out at the Kylie for her post, taken from a shoot at the beginning of last year.

The picture, posted on her Instagram stories, shows the billionaire modelling bleach blonde hair with twist braids, a style associated with black culture.

The photo was also shared by photographers the Morelli brothers, who took the shot.

They posted the snap on their Instagram account, with the caption: "Happy New Year People!"

According to the two men, singer Gwen Stefani was the original inspiration for the hairstyle.

Offended by the picture, users hit out at the reality star by commenting on the Morelli brothers' post.
