Sometimes, just sometimes, a song manages to capture the mood of a generation. A piece of music that becomes so culturally important that it transcends all boundaries and captures the zeitgeist of an entire people.
I'm talking - of course - about Darude's 'Sandstorm'.
Yes, the Finnish turn-of-the-century trance classic is the song that launched a thousand memes, a thousand more covers, and made finding out the name of any song on the Internet just that little bit more difficult.

But what does it all mean?
Well, it's quite difficult to tell. It's largely instrumental. Or is it?
Some brave soul has taken the time to notate all of the 'lyrics' to the song, and you can find them with a cursory Google search.

OK, it's actually not that much help, because most of them are things like:
Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun
Don't lie, you just read that in the rhythm of the track. That is exactly the reason that this is such important work.
So, now you know, if you're ever feeling low and need some uplifting inspiration to get you through the day, just remember these key words: "Nyu nyu nyu nyu nyu nnyu nyu nyu nyu nyu nyu nyu nyu nyu nyu nyu doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo nnn nn nn nn nn nn n nn nnn nn nn nnn nnn nnnnnnnn.

"Dddddddd ddadadadadaddadadadadadaadadadadadad."
As it happens, we know that this is legit as well.
Back in 2015, the Finnish producer behind the song gave the lyrics the official sign off in a Reddit 'Ask Me Anything'.

After the runaway of 'Sandstorm', Darude - who is really called Ville Virtanen - has largely failed to replicate such a resonant and meaningful song.
However, he has released four studio albums and performed across the globe as a DJ for many years now.
Apparently, the song was originally going to have lyrics. Article on the Daily Dot suggest that these lyrics were going to be:
Every day and every night, I always dream that you are by my side.

Now, firstly, there's a small chance that fact could be absolute bollocks. Secondly, I vastly prefer: "SCHEW dododododododoodododododododododododododo / dadadadddudndundundudnudndundundunddunfudnundudnudnudndund / BOOM."
Don't you?
