Special 50th Anniversary Editions Of The Beatles' White Album To Be Released

They officially split up in 1970 and only half the band are still alive - but The Beatles are still one of the biggest bands to have ever graced the planet.

So if you needed another excuse to go and spend a day listening to their lengthy back catalogue - or even educate yourself on a band that you for whatever reason haven't really bothered with - then here you go

This November, the enigmatic White Album celebrates 50 years since its first release. And fans are in for a treat hanks to two (count 'em) special releases.

Giles Martin, son of original album producer George Martin, and mix engineer Sam Okell have remixed the original 30 tracks and created a three-disc Deluxe as well as a seven-disc Super Deluxe edition, which will go on sale on November 9.

Beatles die-hards are in for a treat, as it will include 50 session tracks - most of which have never been released before, as well as the 27 Esher acoustic demos, recorded in George Harrison's bungalow shortly after the band returned from their trip to India.

The six-disc edition will also include a 164-page hardbound book, with the original album's four colour portrait photographs of John, Paul, George, and Ringo.

But priced at £80 and £120, you'd better be ready to dig deep.

This isn't the first time the band's estate has re-released a classic. Last year, Martin was back in the studio to play around with 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' - which also celebrated half a century since release.

Oh, and although hardcore fans will probably already know this, the White Album's actual title is simply The Beatles - but the name stuck because of it's blank white cover.
