Former N-Dubz star Dappy has been arrested by armed police after 'attacking a woman with a tennis racket', it's been alleged.

The rapper, real name Costadinos Contostavlos, is also alleged to have shouted: "I'll stab the Old Bill in the face," after being told police were on their way.

Five armed response vehicles and two police cars surrounded his house following reports he had hit a woman with a tennis racket yesterday afternoon.

According to the Sun, four students had to drag Contostavlos off the woman as he continued to shout and spit at her. They then contacted emergency services.

Police stopped his neighbours from entering the street, telling them 'he has a weapon'.

Eyewitnesses told the paper that police smashed their way into Contostavlos' home, only to find he had left. He was later seen being returned home in a police car, before leaving in a second car for questioning, it is reported.

One neighbour told the Sun: "The police said there was someone with a weapon. Dappy and the girl were screaming and shouting and - when he heard that the police had been called - he shouted, 'I'll stab the Old Bill'.

"He had her pinned down on the driveway and was hitting her with a tennis racket. He was really laying into her and they were spitting at each other. Then four boys came along, I think from the local university. They looked like rugby boys and hauled him off.

"Dappy disappeared and the next thing we saw was armed police pointing a gun at his door. Then there were three loud bangs as they rammed it."

He was questioned on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and possessing an illegal weapon. A police spokeperson told the Mirror: "Police were called at 4.30pm on Wednesday May 10 to reports of an incident involving a man and a woman in the street in Roe Green Close, Hatfield.

"The man threatened the woman before leaving the scene. It is believed he had a knife. No one was seriously injured."

They added that he remained in custody this morning.
