The 17-year-old Australian who smashed an egg on the back of Senator Fraser Anning's head has shared a video on social media in which he responds to the incident.

Will Connolly, from Victoria, snuck up behind the Conservative National Party Senator and crushed an egg against his head, the politician then turned round and aimed a blow at him before he was dragged off by around five men.

The incident - which took place at a Conservative National Party meeting in Melbourne - was then shared around the globe on social media, garnering both criticism and praise for his actions.

On Sunday morning, Connolly shared a video in which he warned fans against cracking eggs on the heads of far-right politicians. Connolly said: "Don't egg a politician, you'll get tackled by 30 bogans at the same time, I learnt the hard way, fuck."

For those of you not aware of Australian slang, a bogan is someone who is thought to be somewhat unsophisticated or unrefined, shall we say? Here in the UK, they might be called a scally, or a ned.

Anyway, Connolly didn't seem too fazed by his ordeal, despite some pretty shocking footage emerging of his treatment. He laughed his way through the video and captioned it: "No regrets."

Anning's staff quickly collared Connolly.

Basically, his motivation behind the sly egging of Fraser Anning was a result of the politicians comments about the recent terrorist atrocity that killed 50 people in New Zealand. Anning said: "The real cause of the bloodshed on New Zealand streets today is the immigration program which allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand in the first place."

Most people seem to agree that Mr Anning's view is - obviously - a horrific take on an awful situation. Since his egging, Connolly's Instagram following has grown to more than 300,000 and #EggBoyHero has been trending on Twitter.

Oh, and a GoFundMe page has been set up to pay for his legal costs, as well as 'more eggs'. It beat the target in minutes, unsurprisingly.

The incident could have repercussions for Anning, too. Victoria Police are investigating the incident "in its entirety" which you'd have to imagine includes the shot at Connolly, as well as his treatment afterwards by Anning's supporters.

Aussie Prime Minister Scott Morrison has also hit out at Anning's comments. He said: "The remarks by Senator Fraser Anning blaming the murderous attacks by a violent, right-wing, extremist terrorist in New Zealand on immigration are disgusting. These views have no place in Australia, let alone in the Australian Parliament."

Furthermore, a petition to have Senator Anning removed from the Australian Parliament has received more than 250,000 signatures.
