If you've got a holiday coming up, there's a chance you'll be familiar with the race against time; trying to perfect the summer bod you've left until too late and getting yourself a bit of a base tan on the go are both of the highest importance.

Bit of a faff though, isn't it? Step forward Amazon. The site has all sorts of weird and wonderful delights - but most relevant to our needs is this Prebiotic Protection Sun Cream by Sunshapers.

It sounds like it might be the answer to our prayers because now you can tan and fat burn all at once - and for the princely sum of £15.99.

Sunshapers/Amazon

The product description reads: "Sunshapers is a game-changer for sun care. Instead of thinking of sun cream and after sun as just a product for protection and soothing, Sunshapers combines protection and moisturising with a highly effective thermogenic fat burner to support your weight loss and fitness goals even when you are relaxing in the sun."

The product is also "specifically formulated to burn fat and reduce the appearance of cellulite while inhibiting the growth of new fat cells, including stubborn belly fat."

According to the product's description, you can 'burn fat while you relax'. Apparently, the 'thermogenic weight loss' effects also inhibits the formation of new fat cells by up to 80 percent, as well as including anti-cellulite ingredients.

It's also a tan accelerator. This means it's supposed to stimulate the skin's melanin to give you a faster and deeper tan.

There is a legal disclaimer, which says: "Sunshapers contains active natural ingredients proven to shrink fat cells and burn cellulite. Individual results cannot be guaranteed."

Now I hate to be a cynical realist here, but let's not get carried away. These seem like very bold claims for a sun cream to make - lotion will never be a replacement for a healthy diet and exercise. But at the very least, you'll have factor 30 sun protection.

If sitting in the sun isn't your thing, women - and a growing number of men - are turning to fake tan. It's supposed to be much better for your skin - which is fair enough, but if you do go down the fake tan route, you're best advised to get it done professionally.

One mum used a home tan, and amazingly caught the moment her baby was left crying in terror because she turned into 'The Incredible Hulk' - thanks to fake tan turning her green.

Not ideal at all. Either way - tan safely and protect your skin from the sun, guys.
