Angry Letter Asks Residents To Turn Vigilante Against 'D***head' Neighbour

The angry resident decided to do something about their ‘d***head’ neighbour – calling on others to help by issuing a letter to everyone

Many of us have to deal with irritating neighbours at some point in our lives, whether they're blaring music into the small hours, love getting the power drill out at 7am on a Saturday or let their cat regularly defecate all over your geraniums.

However, most likely the furthest we'll get to dealing with it is briefly grumbling about it before moving on, accepting our fate.

That wasn't the case for one disgruntled resident, who decided to do something about their 'd***head' neighbour - calling on others to help by issuing a letter to everyone in the nearby flats.

We've all had sleepless nights thanks to noisy neighbours.

A photo of the letter was posted on Reddit by one of the neighbours who received it, who wrote: "A letter I received this morning."

In the note, the person explained how a 'motorcyclist neighbour' owned a unsilenced motorbike and drove to work on it at around 5.45am each day, in turn 'waking up multiple neighbours across the neighbourhood'.

They wrote to the motorcyclist, along with 50 surrounding flats in the neighbourhood, requesting that they reinstalled the silencer, adding that they would be given 30 days to do so before the police, council and DVLA were notified.

But the nuisance neighbour retaliated by buying 'a much bigger and noisier bike'.

"The one before was 125cc," the person wrote in their letter.

"The new bike is 600cc. So, it's even louder than before and wakes up more people."

They added: "To me, he's a man who's overcompensating for the little he's got in the trouser department - a pathetic self-centred little man child who doesn't care about his neighbours and hasn't grown up. What a loser."

The person explained that they had had 'little success' with the authorities, as it appeared to be difficult to enforce rules surrounding bike silencers.

They continued: "There is now a trend for bikers to remove the silencers from their bikes to increase the volume of their 'pipes' as they call them.

"This is what has led to an epidemic of noise pollution from all these bikers who think they're Dennis Hopper from Easy Rider when really everyone looks on them with disgust and ridicule as they ride by on their noisy bike. Sadly, these bikers know that they can simply get away with it."

The angry resident then called on others to help, saying: "So, my quest is at an end without a positive resolution, why am I writing to you?

"Well, I want to pass the baton on to you. I am no vigilante, so if any of you have a thought as to how to convince this d***head to change his ways, please feel free to try.

"If no one acts, he will continue to wake you all up for years to come. You have been warned."

The Reddit post has racked up more than 46,000 upvotes in just one day, along with thousands of comments.

Someone wrote: "What a baton to be passed."

Another said: "F*** noisy inconsiderate neighbours, anyone who's had to live through having your sleep disrupted everyday knows it's torture."

Others shared similar experiences, with one writing: "My 5 year old tells me she knows when it is time to get up in the morning when she hears the motorbike leave in our road. I was wondering how she magically gets out of bed at the same time every morning."

Someone else said: "My across the road neighbour leaves at 7am every morning and blasts Dolly Parton in his car just before he leaves. I'm completely conditioned to wake up to Dolly's voice now."
