Thai Man Discovers 15ft Snake Hiding In Wall While Watching TV

Fucking hell! What are you doing?!? Don't go near the snake! This is exactly why St. Patrick (topical) drove them out of Ireland in the first place.

Confused? Ok, here's what I'm talking about:

Somchai Subdang was watching tellybox in his home in Thailand when he heard a weird noise coming from the wall. On closer, soon-to-be scarier inspection, the noises turned out to be hissing sounds. And you know what hisses?

Burst pipes.

But also snakes. And given that there was no water leaking all over the shop, 45-year-old Somchai jumped in fright before calling rescuers who came round to deal with the situation.

"I'm not afraid of the snake when it's stuck in the wall, but it could have been scary if it got into the ceiling then dropped down onto me while I was sleeping," he said.

"I'm disappointed that I'll have to fix the house now. But that's better than having a snake hiding in the house."

Never a truer word spoken.

As the footage shows, rescue workers hacked away before pulling the snake from its shadowy inter-wall haven. One of the rescue workers said they believed it had got there through a gap in the wall to hide from the rain - which might seem strange, given it's waterproof skin, but presumably snakes don't like to be cold either.

When the rescue workers managed to get a metal hoop around the snakes neck to trap it, the python lunged towards them, but thankfully they were able to gradually tease it out and restrict it from trying to take a bite out of anyone present.

in front of the house, they were able to put Snakey into a large bag before transferring him to wildlife workers, who then released it back into the wild.

Rescue worker Bang Sem commented: ''This was an unusual place to find the snake. We think it got inside though a gap in the wall to shelter from the rain.

''I gave my young son my phone to start recording daddy catch snake. He enjoyed seeing it. The snake was about 4.5 metres long. It was returned back to nature."

I think we're just a little bit grateful on Somchai's behalf.

Snakes have had a bad rep in western culture ever since the dawn of Christianity, in large part because a snake was blamed for tempting Eve into eaten the forbidden fruit, who herself was somewhat unfairly blamed for Adam's decision to have a little bit of fruit himself.

However, in various cultures snakes have been seen as a symbol of healing, intelligence and fertility.

None of that really matters when you have a snake in your wall though, because their teeth are really sharp and they don't like to be pissed off.

Still, better than a burst pipe. Those are a bugger to fix.
