A heated argument broke out after a woman opened a pet owner's car door to 'save' their dog during hot weather. Watch video below:

The woman, from Massachusetts, US, said that she noticed that the dog was in the owner's car 'for 40 minutes' in the sizzling 85F (29.5C) heat.

Despite the windows being open to let in air there was reportedly no sign of the owner so she decided to open the door to help the dog.

However, the owner returned and was absolutely fuming.

She screamed: "You touched my dog, my car."

"Do you own my vehicle?" she added.

As you can see from the clip, the argument goes on and continues to escalate.

The video was recorded, in Greenfield Massachusetts, by Joshua Candelaria who uploaded it on Facebook.

"Never a dull moment in Greenfield," he wrote in his caption.

According to the RSPCA, you should 'never leave your dog alone in a car on a warm day'.

On their website they say: "Many people still believe that it's ok to leave a dog in a car on a warm day if the windows are left open or they're parked in the shade, but the truth is, it's still a very dangerous situation for the dog.

"A car can become as hot as an oven very quickly, even when it doesn't feel that warm. When it's 22 degrees, in a car it can reach an unbearable 47 degrees within the hour."
