The family of Brian Laundrie reportedly called the police after Dog The Bounty Hunter joined the search for her son.

Duane 'Dog' Chapman called it 'a shame' that Laundrie's called 911 on Saturday (25 Sept), per FOX News.

It was reported that audio has emerged that indicated that Laundrie's parents got in touch with the cops.

Laundrie, is the boyfriend of Gabby Petito whose body was found in Bridger-Teton National Park last Sunday.

On Saturday afternoon (25 Sep) Chapman was seen knocking on the door of the home of Laundrie's parents, with who he has been living with.

Either no one was home, or the family decided not to answer as Chapman and his wife left the area within a few minutes.

Although, police were seen to be entering the home shortly after.

Chapman told FOX News: "We had a lot of requests that I get in on this. This is what I do for a living, for 45 years."

The 68-year-old has 13 children and he sadly lost his daughter to a car accident when she was the same age as Petito.

"I know what the victims feel like," he concluded.

Police and FBI have been searching the home of Laundrie's parents after declaring it a 'crime scene' earlier in the week.

Laundrie has been missing since September 14 after telling his parents he was embarking on a solo hike around the Carlton Reserve, near to the property in Florida.

22-year-old Petito and Laundrie had been travelling around the national parks of the USA since late June or early July.

After discovering Petito's body in the Bridger-Teton National Park on 19 September, the FBI's office in Denver, Colorado announced the results of the autopsy on 21 September.

"Teton County Coroner Dr Brent Blue confirmed the remains are those of Gabrielle Venora Petito, date of birth March 19, 1999. Coroner [Brent] Blue's initial determination for the manner of death is homicide."

The agency added: "The cause of death remains pending final autopsy results."
