As the toilet paper panic buying continues in Australia amid the coronavirus outbreak, there is an alternative that you might not have considered.

It's not baby wipes, tissues or paper towels: it's still toilet paper.

But where could you get some without having to elbow others out of the way, like a scene from Mad Max?

Bunnings

Everyone's favourite DIY store, Bunnings, is selling some industrial-sized loo roll that could last you an entire year if you use it sparingly.

For just $42 you can pick up an 8-pack of Scott Essential Jumbo Tissue Roll, which equates to around 2,400 metres of toilet paper.

We are talking kilometres-worth of dunny roll for next to nothing.

You can also get 6-packs of Kleenex mega rolls, which equates to 1,800 metres, but that will set you back $75.

According to 7News, a shopper made the amazing find while perusing the aisles of her local Bunnings.

They added: "If anyone gets truly desperate Bunnings sells the industrial rolls, the ones you usually find in public toilets in the large dispensers.

"It's not going to run out on you anytime soon!"

People have been shopping, both calmly and chaotically, to get their supply of toilet paper around Australia for the past three weeks.

The panic buying was sparked by fears the coronavirus could affect supply and people want to stock up in case they are told to self-isolate for two weeks.

A stampede for toilet roll was captured on CCTV at a supermarket in the Sydney suburb of Guildford. Watch for yourself:

Initially the clip shows a seemingly empty aisle., but as the store opens, people calmly and quickly make a beeline for the toilet paper aisle.

As the clip comes to an end, there are only a few packets of loo roll left, despite the shelves being stacked to the brim just a few seconds earlier.

Aldi had to introduce a rule limiting people to one pack of toilet paper each to ensure everyone had access to toilet paper. The video clearly shows people not adhering to the rule.

The low-cost supermarket also had to ditch its campaign to have toilet paper on its Special Buys list.

A statement released earlier this week said: "Due to unexpected demand on certain products over the past week, our Emporia toilet paper and Handee Ultra paper towel Special Buys were made available in stores earlier than the intended on sale date (Wednesday, March 11).

"As a result, these Special Buys will only be available in limited Aldi stores. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
