Presenter Ruth Langsford was having none of it, though, arguing that the notorious criminal had been extremely violent and was well known for holding people hostage so should remain banged up.

Paparazzi photographer George Bamby, who added a 'Salvador' to the end of his name on finding out he was Bronson's son, argued that his old man had never hurt anyone on the outside and therefore should be granted parole.

He said: "People stop me in the street and go, 'you're Charles Bronson's son, how many people has he murdered?'.

Charles Bronson's 'son' appeared on TV on Friday morning.

"He hasn't murdered anyone.

"Look at that Warboys guy, he's raped all these women and stuff. He got eight years and they let him out.

"My dad, has never killed anyone. He's never hurt a woman or a child. He's not done anything violent to anyone on the outside world. Why is he still locked up and they are not?"

The photographer was contacted by Bronson after the prisoner spotted him on a Channel 4 documentary called Confessions of the Paparazzi.

After a visit to Wakefield Prison, a DNA test was completed, allegedly proving that George was the son of Bronson.

Asked if he was anxious before the meeting, he confessed: "I was frightened at first. I was saying to the guards, 'You're not going to leave me on my own with him?'.

"As I moved through security, I heard someone singing, 'Please release me, let me go.'

"I opened this door, I walked in, Charlie is stood on his hands upside down doing 100 press ups in mid-air, singing this song, without even releasing any breath or anything.

"He jumps up, does a backflip, walks up to the bars in his cage and says, 'Georgie boy!'.

"He put his arm through the bars and I was like 'do I touch him, what happens?'."

Bamby said the two of them talked for hours and that at points he was brought to tears.

At the end of the visit, Bronson handed him a napkin containing two moustache hairs and told him to get them tested.

According to George, two DNA test results proved conclusively that the criminal had a 99.98 percent chance of being George's father.

Challenging the 43 years his dad has been kept behind bars up to now, George said: "Yeah, in the past he's been violent and done some evil things, he's told me that.

"He said 'yeah, I've done some bad things, 33 of them I deserved but the last 10 I didn't.'"

Happy families...
