Child Miraculously Gets Up Unharmed After Being Run Over By Car
A child in India has had a lucky escape after he was run over by a car.
The boy was playing football in the streets with friends when the incident took place in Goregaon in Mumbai, on 24 September.
The car can be seen slowly reversing out of its parking spot as the children play behind, but the driver appears not to have noticed the crouching child to the front of the vehicle. The car then pulls away and hits the boy who attempts to scrabble himself away momentarily, before the vehicle drives over the top of him and out of shot.
As the boy disappears under the car, it is hard not to fear the worst for the child, but unbelievably, the child immediately gets back to his feet and rejoins his friends, seemingly unscathed. That said, the footage stops with the child still running, so there is a chance he ran all the way home in tears, rather than getting straight back into the game.
Either way, it was an extremely lucky escape for the boy, who presumably narrowly avoided all of the wheels and the serious damage they could have inflicted.
However, The Indian Express reported that 44-year-old Shraddha Chandrakar was arrested for rash and negligent driving and was later bailed. The publication reported that Inspector Xavier Rego, of Dindoshi Police Station, said the family were only convinced they should make a complaint after the video went viral.
He said: "The boy sustained minor injuries... but the family did not want to file a complaint initially. However, when the video went viral, the family was convinced to give a statement."
Based off this statement, Chandrakar was reportedly arrested.
A lot of lessons can be learnt from this story, namely, watch where you tie your shoe laces, and watch out for people tying their shoelaces in unexpected places.
One positive to come from this is that the boy is surely now going to be tracked down by an Indian Super League club and enrolled in their academy - any kid who gets crushed by a car, only to get back up and back in the game, undoubtedly has the potential to be the tough-tackling midfielder of dreams.
