China has warned that thermo-nuclear war could break out between North Korea and the US 'at any moment'.

It's thought that North Korea is gearing up to a sixth nuclear test since 2006 and the US is not happy about it.

Trump has sent 'an armada' to the hermit state in an attempt to deter its ambitions to nuclear power, which according to UN resolutions and sanctions is illegal.

The BBC reports that Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, said: "Lately, tensions have risen between on the one hand the United States and the Republic of Korea [South Korea] and on the other, the DPRK [North Korea] and one has the feeling that a conflict could break out at any moment.

"I think that all relevant parties should be highly vigilant with regards to this situation."

"We call on all parties to refrain from provoking and threatening each other, whether in words or actions, and not let the situation get to an irreversible and unmanageable stage," he added.

It's thought that the nuclear test is to honour the 105th anniversary of the birth of North Korea's founding father Kim Il-sung.

"We have submarines...very powerful. Far more powerful than the aircraft carriers," Donald Trump said about the fleet in an interview on Fox Business Network.

Chinese leader, Xi Jinpingan, has also called for a peaceful end to the conflict.

According to Reuters, Xi Jinpingan said in phone call with Trump: "[China] is committed to the target of de-nuclearisation on the peninsula, safeguarding peace and stability on the peninsula, and advocates resolving problems through peaceful means."

China is keen to avoid nuclear war and the destabilisation of that part of the world.

However, Xi Jinpingan has also said: "China is willing to maintain close communication and coordination with the US side."

President Trump's tweets have been described by North Korea's Foreign Minister and official spokesman as a way of creating a 'vicious cycle of tension'.

Han Song-ryol, North Korea's vice foreign minister, told Associated Press: "Trump is always making provocations with his aggressive words.

"We will go to war if they choose."

"Whatever comes from US politicians, if their words are designed to overthrow the DPRK system and government, we will categorically reject them," he said.

Trump's highly visible Twitter presence has caused waves all around the world with his comments.

North Korea, however, has said that it is impervious to any pressure.

"Our revolutionary strong army is keenly watching every move by enemy elements with our nuclear sight focused on the US invasion bases not only in South Korea and the Pacific operation theatre but also in the U.S. mainland," said Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the North Korea.
