Chris Evans has hit back at the organisers of a 'straight pride' event planned for Boston in the US.
In response to the annual gay pride event that takes place in the city, a group of people claim that it's not inclusive for straight people and there have been calls for years for a straight pride to go ahead.
While calls like that have been met with severe eye rolls, it seems like one event could actually go ahead in America.
A group called Super Happy Fun America has lodged an application with Boston officials to host a straight pride parade to 'celebrate the diverse history, culture, and contributions of the straight community'.
The Captain America actor is not happy with it, and he's made his views very clear.
Wow! Cool initiative, fellas!! Just a thought, instead of 'Straight Pride' parade, how about this: The 'desperately trying to bury our own gay thoughts by being homophobic because no one taught us how to access our emotions as children' parade? Whatta ya think? Too on the nose?? https://t.co/gaBWtq2PaL

The Republican candidate for Massachusetts' 5th Congressional District in the 2018 mid-term election John Hugo is one of three people spearheading this parade. He's said some interesting things in the past about straight people.
On the Super Happy Fun America website, he said: "Straight people are an oppressed majority. We will fight for the right of straights everywhere to express pride in themselves without fear of judgement and hate."
Chris also posted another tweet condemning the concept.
Wow, the number gay/straight pride parade false equivalencies are disappointing. For those who don't understand the difference, see below. Instead of going immediately to anger(which is actually just fear of what you don't understand)take a moment to search for empathy and growth https://t.co/e98K0Z150T

"If you would like to come as an individual, march as a group, or bring a float or vehicle, then get in touch. This is our chance to have a patriotic parade in Boston as we celebrate straight pride," Super Happy Fun America club president Mark Sahady said.
He says he's served a discrimination complaint against the City of Boston in case the parade gets knocked back, meaning it looks like this thing will go ahead.
