This is the moment a corner shop owner wrestled a robber and pinned him to the floor after the crook pulled out a knife on him.

The dramatic incident happened in the city of Dongguan in South China at 1:02am on October 25, footage from the business shows the suspect pretending to purchase items.

He allows the seemingly unsuspecting shopkeeper to pack his goods into plastic bags while he stares at his mobile phone minding his own business.

However, when the corner shop owner moves to open the cash register, the robber pulls a knife from his jacket pocket and points it at the shopkeeper at the exact same time.

Surprisingly, the owner fights back by grabbing the knife-wielding suspect's arm, and the pair begin wrestling out of camera shot.

When the two are seen again, the shopkeeper is grabbing the crook while pushing his elbow against the robber's neck.

The shopkeeper appears to land several punches to the robber's head, knocking the guy to the floor, from where he never manages get up.

The brave owner pins the suspect while another employee comes to his aid.

A police vehicle also arrives outside the shop and the owner waves the cop in. The authorities are believed to be investigating the case.

In January an A&E nurse, dubbed a 'hero', confronted a knife man so that patients could get to safety.

Twenty-two-year-old Yusuf Aka was jailed for five years following the incident which took place in the early hours of the morning.

In the clip Aka can be seen calmly walking into the emergency department at Leicester Royal Infirmary after he had stabbed a man outside.

As he approached, the heroic nurse began ushering patients to safety, only for Aka to start lashing computers across the room.

DC Chris Symmonds, from Leicestershire Police, told ITV: "This was a terrifying experience not only for the victim who was stabbed, but also for the many members of the public and staff who were present that morning.

"Aka carried on his rampage oblivious to the panic breaking out behind him.

"The actions of members of staff who quickly took control of the situation, and led people out of his way without a thought for their own safety, was commendable, and they should be proud of what they accomplished."
