Your wedding day is meant to be the happiest day of your life, and one couple really pushed the boat out when they decided to have a KFC-themed ceremony, with everything from the cake to the photo booth designed by the Colonel himself.

Kate and Harrison Cann, from Toowoomba, Queensland, became the first people in the world to use the fast-food giant's 'wedding service', which launched in 2019, to plan their special day.

And while for plenty of people this may be their idea of hell, for these two lovebirds, who had their first date at a KFC restaurant in 2017, it was a dream come true.

The couple beat off competition from 2,000 people by making their own version of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme tune, gushing about their love for each other, to win the unique wedding day experience.

But even the guests didn't know about their poultry-themed nuptials until they arrived at the service.

Kate and Harrison said: "We're over the moon to have been selected for the first ever KFC Wedding and having the Colonel present on our big day took us back to the first meal we shared together.

"Our friends and family were stunned when they arrived to find out it was actually our wedding day - and not just any wedding but a KFC wedding."

The wedding featured personalised KFC buckets, a KFC-themed wedding cake, a photo booth, a KFC Food Truck and a Colonel-style singer.

And this is the first wedding of many, with five more lucky couples set to be announced.

KFC Australia's CMO Kristi Woolrych said: "We're delighted to see Kate and Harrison get married and celebrate their love for each other over a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken with their nearest and dearest.

"We hope it's a day they will remember for the rest of their lives. We can't wait to see the next lucky couples have their very own KFC Wedding."

The couple, from Queensland, Australia, had their first date at KFC in 2017.

Now, if you've got a serious passion for southern fried chicken but haven't met that special someone just yet, fear not, we might have just the thing for you.

That's because the Colonel and his team are looking for a professional chicken taster.

KFC is on the hunt for its 'biggest fan' to become the face of its next campaign and 'finger lick their way to fame' (ooh er), with the only catch being that you must be good at eating chicken. Yep, you've got this in the bag.

The ad said: "One clucky fan will get the chance to tuck into some of Kentucky's finest, winging their way to stardom as the face of the chicken legend's latest campaign.

"The winning KFC connoisseur will take part in an exclusive photoshoot showcasing their finest finger lickin' skills."
