He said: "The worst story I've ever seen as a doctor is the story of the fractured penis.

"It's 3am in the emergency room and I'm about to go on my break when an embarrassed young man turns up in excruciating pain with his girlfriend.

"He simply says 'I think I've broken my penis'.

"When examining him I noticed his appendage was bent, swollen and purple with bruising.

"I take a brief history from him to find out why it happened?

"He says he was enjoying a particular energetic session of bedroom gymnastics when he heard a loud pop.

"I explain to him that the consequences of his aggressive bedroom antics meant the tunics albuginea (the fibrous sheath covering the spongy tissue) was torn, leading to bleeding.

"I don't know what happened to him after that but I know he was listed for emergency surgery later that morning.

"Patients who don't have early treatment are left with permanent curvature and erectile disfunction.

Many of Dr Rangarjan's followers were horrified by the injury, with one saying it was 'terrifying'.

"Any guys out there wondering how he is not dead?" wrote one person.

Another viewer said: "This hurts just to watch."

"I could barely watch this," someone else added.

But Dr Rangarjan was keen to put their minds at rest, "It's painful and serious but not life threatening in the immediate situation!"

The story clearly hit home for a few of the men who watched the video, with one saying: "Every guy from the start either felt awkward or did that awkward movement and grabbed their bits and/or made an uncomfortable noise[sic]".

"All men felt that," another person agreed.

Other viewers were able to see the funny side, with one person saying: "A particularly energetic session of bedroom gymnastics, I'm dying," followed by laughing emojis.
