A doctor in Australia is suing a dating agency after claiming she was matched with a man who was less than six feet tall.

The Daily Mail reports that Eileen Moore wants a full refund of the $4,995 (£3629) joining fee, and a letter of apology from dating agency Elite Introductions.

She upped the anti by taking matters to the Victorian and Administrative Tribune, arguing that she was set up with a dude called David who didn't meet her height requirement she had given the agency.

She said on Thursday: "I was not expecting them to find me love, I was expecting them to find me a man who met the criteria I wanted.

"I was at a stage where I was ready to settle down, get married and start a family.

"I was a career woman, I was 36 ... I was ready to embark on the next chapter of my life."

Dr Moore joined the exclusive dating agency in 2019 with her ongoing search to find 'the one'.

Her explanation for wanting a tall lad was because her family is tall and she didn't want to be considered to be the short one.

The tribunal heard that Dr Moore explained her requirements to the agency's 'psychotherapeutic consultant' Lisa Hayes.

She claimed she was then contacted by Ms Hayes who claimed to have found a suitable suitor who was 'relationship ready'.

The tribunal heard that Hayes was said to have reassured Dr Moore that 'David' was overseas at the time and only mentioned the man's height later on.

Dr Moore said she was 'gobsmacked'.

She said she felt obligated to meet up with David but did not see him for a second time.

The doctor claimed she tried to contact Ms Hayes on several occasions, but did not receive a response.

Tribunal member Danielle Galvin suggested Dr Moore reach a private settlement and doubted she would receive a refund.

Her matter will return to the tribune in February 2022.
