Donald Trump is donating $1million of his own money to charity for the victims of Hurricane Harvey, the Daily Mail reports.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders, White House press secretary, announced the news just days after a press conference during which she said she wasn't sure how much the president and first lady would be willing to donate.

"Nobody's ever seen this much water. The wind was pretty horrific, in particular, but the water has never been seen like this, to this extent, Trump said this afternoon. "Maybe someday [it's] going to disappear. We keep waiting."
Melania Trump then added: "The effects of Hurricane Harvey will be felt in Texas, Louisiana, and other parts of the country for many months and years to come."
Other celebrities have also been donating money to the victims in Texas after Kevin Hart pleaded with them.
The comedian posted a very heartfelt video in which he revealed he'd be giving $25,000 to the Red Cross, asking people like Dwayne Johnson, Chris Brown, DJ Kaled, T.I, Beyonce and Jay Z to do the same.

He later doubled his donation to $50,000, plus started a Crowdrise campaign so other people could donate money.
Hurricane Harvey has been labelled one of the most powerful storms to hit the United States in a decade.
It hit the mainland as a category four and packed wind gusts of up to 130 mph (209km/h). It knocked out electricity to about 300,000 people, and hundreds had to gather in shelters that could withstand its wrath.
