Drunk Man Wakes Up With Top Of Finger Missing After Night Out

Dwayne Thompson woke up in a ditch by a bus station to find he was covered in blood - and was missing a big chunk of his finger. As you do.

A bloke who went out on a boozy night rivalled the storyline of The Hangover, waking up not only covered in blood, but also with the end of his finger missing. As you'd imagine, it wasn't a pretty sight.

Dwayne Thompson, 26, had had a nice meal out with pals in Leicester, but apparently can't remember anything past 10.30pm, when he took a photo.

The next thing he knew, he was waking up in a ditch by an old bus depot at 2.30am, and made the grim discovery that not all of his body parts were there with him.

Much like the plot of the 2009 comedy flick starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis, Dwayne's now on a desperate hunt for clues about what the hell happened that night - and where on Earth his finger went.

He's asked police to investigate the case but, apparently, they told him CCTV footage from the night will be too old to review.

Dwayne said: "I keep being asked where my finger is and what happened to it, and all I can say is, 'I don't know, mate'. I feel stupid not being able to answer.

"It was not a big night. We went out for a nice three-course meal with my girlfriend and some of her mates, so how this happened I've got no idea.

"We were having a nice time and I only had a couple of drinks. It was definitely nothing more than usual.

"When I think back to it, I remember us having our photo taken at around 10:30 and then nothing. My memory is completely blank.

"How I ended up where I did is a complete mystery. It's like I just jumped through time to the bus depot.

"It's pretty scary waking up without a piece of your finger and not knowing where it is. I need someone to tell me what I was doing.

"It's frustrating, really. I've lost my finger and my memory, and no one has been able to help."

It wasn't until two days after the incident that Dwayne had surgery on his finger, which involved removing part of the bone and flesh that was left, before stretching skin over the wound.

He also had five days off from his job as a cleaner at a bakery, as he's unable to let the dodgy finger touch any cleaning products.

Leicestershire Police are making inquiries while anyone with any information, or who believes they saw Dwayne on that night, is urged to contact the force on 101 and help him put things together - both in his head, and on his hand.
