Elon Musk and his partner Grimes have welcome their first child together.

The Tesla boss has been flooded with messages from followers on social media, with people asking every question under the sun.

Naturally, many are wondering what the tech billionaire and singer have decided to name their little bundle of joy.

Musk has responded to that question, saying his son has been named 'X Æ A-12'.

Who knows whether that's a joke or not as we aren't even entirely sure how you'd pronounce that.

One user on Twitter took a real deep dive and suggested the baby boy's name could be said like X Ash Archangel. The suggestion is based off Æ, a letter in the Swedish alphabet, which is called Ash, and the A-12 refers to Lockheed's reconnaissance plane for the CIA.

While that might sound like a stretch, Elon Musk liked the tweet, which could indicate that they're correct or just that he enjoyed the effort the Twitter user went to.

Grimes has also posted about what the name means, and the Twitter user wasn't far off. The X refers to 'the unknown variable' and Æ refers to her Elvin spelling of Ai, which means love and/or artificial intelligence.

Elon has been known to joke around on Twitter before so this could all be an elaborate ruse to get the masses talking.

But, he has also been known to follow through on tweets that sound like jokes. Earlier this year, he teased that he was going to make an electronic dance song and everyone thought he was taking the piss.

In just a couple of days, Musk produced 'Don't Doubt Ur Vibe' and it was a low-key banger.

The name reveal certainly hasn't even been the strangest part of this pregnancy journey between him and Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher.

X Æ A-12's mum posted an uncensored picture showing the outline of a foetus photoshopped onto her body, writing a comment underneath the now-deleted photo that appeared to confirm she was expecting.

Referring to the fact that she was topless, she wrote: "I thought about censoring them for a hot minute haha (this may get taken down anyway) but the photo is so much less feral without the nipples.

"Plus being knocked up is a very feral & war-like state of being.

"Might as well be what it is. Plus most of my friends told me not to post them so then I was afflicted w reverse psychology.

"Interrogated my shame on it and decided it was sum weird internalized self hatred to feel uncomfortable abt my body."

Due to Instagram's rules about showing female nipples, the photo was promptly deleted, before being replaced with another version without visible nipples.

Fast forward to today and Elon Musk decided it was a nice idea to photoshop mini tattoos onto X Æ A-12's face just after birth.

He also shared another, slightly more orthodox, photo, in which he holds his newborn son while clutching a face mask in the other hand.
