An Icelandic family have caused outrage after posing with a polar bear their neighbour had killed in a series of sick selfies.
The neighbour shot and killed the polar bear from 130 metres away, as is the policy in Iceland when polar bears are thought to be hungry and dangerous.
Karitas Gudrunardottir and her husband Egill Thor Bjarnason spotted the polar bear in the town of Blonduos. They hide inside their house, with their children, before letting a neighbour know that they'd seen the bear, the Mirror reports.

The carcass of the dead bear was scooped up in a tractor with the intention of moving it to a different part of the country for refrigeration. But the family decided it was too good a photo opportunity to pass up and posed alongside the dead bear before posting the snaps online.

The chief superintendent in Saudarkrokur said: "There was never any doubt that it would not have to be shot because they were inhabited dwellings nearby, the closest farm was only a few hundred metres away and tourists were also camped around a kilometre away."
I can't help but think there's a massive difference between protecting your family from a deadly animal and taking these ghoulish pictures. But maybe that's just me.
